Claude's analysis tool is one of the most capable general-purpose AI tools for working with numbers. It can read uploaded CSVs, run actual Python, and produce defensible math. For exploring data, asking analytical questions, or doing one-off calculations, it is genuinely excellent.
What it is not built for is producing a workbook you will use as part of a recurring monthly close, a quarterly board prep, or a weekly cash review. Is Claude's analysis tool more accurate than your formulas?
Claude's analysis tool runs real Python, so for one-off calculations it is highly accurate. The catch is that the code it writes is fresh each time - whether it correctly handles a zero-divisor or a negative pretax depends on whether Claude thought to check.
